Life can often be very much like a roller coaster, with peaks and lows, and all you can do is hold on tight and navigate the bends the best that you can. For the most part, I consider myself to be rather blessed, being surrounded with loving friends and family who support me in my endeavours, and being able to seize upon many of the opportunities that come my way. When I find myself challenged, I have learnt not to see this as a "negative" - instead it is a further opportunity encourging me to strive harder or providing a much needed chance to re-evaluate things.

For the last couple of months I have largely been focusing on my upcoming book, as well as finalising the notes for my upcoming workshop on Celtic Goddesses and Warrior Queens. One of the Goddesses that I will be discussing during this workshop is Macha, a rather mysterious figure as there appears to be a number of figures named "Macha" within Irish myth and legend, and much debate as to whether these are in fact the same or different characters.

It is hard to believe that we are over half way through September already and with the Spring Equinox picnic this week, it also means that the special pre-order rate for Dancing the Sacred Wheel: A Journey through the Southern Sabbats only has a further two weeks to run before it ends on 1 October 2012.
I am extremely humbled and grateful for the number of people who have already placed their pre-orders as these help in covering the associated costs that are incurred when it comes to self-publishing a book.

The covenstead has been a hive of activity lately as the end of the calendar year appears on the horizon, heralding thoughts for 2013 ... all the while there is still much yet to do.
Similarly, the Wheel of the Year constantly turns and with it, we find that the Spring, or Vernal, Equinox is fast approaching. As such, the Temple of the Dark Moon will be holding their annual picnic on the Sunday closest to the Sabbat - that being Sunday, 23 September 2012. The venue for this year's picnic will be the Botanic Park (around the area where the Full Moon Gatherings are held), next to Adelaide's beautiful Botanic Gardens.

We are all familiar with the ongoing appeals for Breast Cancer research and the wonderful work that has been done in helping to save women's lives as well as supporting their families. However, how many of us are aware that every year more Australian men actually die from prostate cancer than women die from breast cancer?
People tend to go to great lengths not to mention prostate cancer, a disease that is killing close to 3,300 Australian men every year. Why is this? Is it our "Aussie Bloke" is some kind of superhero who is to resistant to any kind of health issue?

It has taken a while (some ten years actually) but just over a week ago, I announced that I would start to take pre-orders for Dancing the Sacred Wheel: A Journey through the Southern Sabbats. In this short time I have been extremely humbled by the number of people who have showed their support for this book by doing just this.
As it is, I am in the final (final) stages of "twigging" whilst the interior design has mostly been completed. Shortly the cover will also be completed and by the end of this month, I should actually have in my hands a proof copy.
Considering the amount of time that I have devoted to this project, especially in the last 18 months in an attempt to get it finished, naturally I am extremely excited.
